Quiet and efficient, the aircraft's flight is driven by just one Siemens electric motor.
A 70 kW electric motor from Siemens drives the propeller. The electric power is supplied by a small combustion engine, acting purely as a power generator. As the engine constantly runs smoothly and with minimal power of 30 kW, fuel consumption is very low.
The series hybrid electric drive consists of a small combustion engine with an electric generator which economically produces electricity at the low level of average power required from the fuel carried, as well as a more powerful electric motor which drives the propeller. Power is supplied from a battery for take-off and climbing.
