The DA42 Guardian "Multi Purpose Platform" equipped with AE300 diesels is a flexible, multi-functional sensor carrier. Is painted in low reflectivity paint, has a low infra red signature design and special over the wing silencers to further reduce noise and heat signatures.
It can carry various surveillance equipment up to 85 kg (188 lbs).
The Guardian can be fitted with gyro-stabilized daylight and thermal video camera, laser scanner and digital cameras. Onboard microwave up-/downlink system for high quality transfers with a range of more than 100 nm, a beyond-line-of-sight satellite downlink and radios like UHF or VHF or military radios make the Guardian the ideal economy "spy in the sky".
And more... the GUARDIAN can be operated as an UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) or OPV (Optionally Piloted Vehicle) to providing longer operation times or operations in areas that are too dangerous for manned aircraft.
